1920s vintage long reversible opera coat.
Features a velvet collar, velvet cuffs and velvet trim around the bottom.
The dark side of the coat feels like a brocade wool, the pink side possibly brocade satin. It's very heavy.
It's a really gorgeous piece of fashion history and would be for a collector.
Fair to good vintage condtion: no holes or tears and the seams are strong. The dark side has no flaws that I can see and it was probablythe sideworn most as the pink side has staining under the arms, and other stains throughout. It also has a strong storage smell. Not body odor, not mothballs, not cigarette smoke, not old dry cleaning chemicals, just a 100 year old coat smell. I've aired it out and gently treated it with vinegar and it has improved some, so it could potentially get better with more tlc. I didn't trust taking it to the dry cleaner. The velvet trim around the bottom of the pink side looks like it's been repaired after times in its life, but doesn't affect the darker side.
